Need help getting DXGL to work

Post by android927 » August 25th, 2017, 12:35 pm

I'm trying to get DXGL to work with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (GOG.com version), but every time i try to load a scenario the game crashes to the desktop with a "RainbowSix.exe has stopped responding" error message. I am able to play the game successfully without using DXGL (albeit with graphical glitches), so DXGL is obviously what is causing the crash. I have been playing with the DXGL configuration for over an hour now, but nothing i try seems to work. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Assuming it is indeed Direct3D7 or lower, please note that D3D emulation is extremely limited at this time.

It was released in 1998 and uses whatever version of D3D was common at the time.

Are you on Windows 10? I have a feeling my issue might be Win10 related.

Yes, build 16273 which is a preview for the Fall Creators Update version.

It will require a significant amount of work to make this game work, according to my preliminary testing.
Support will not appear in my upcoming DXGL release, as this will potentially delay its release considerably, and the upcoming release has very significant changes reagarding configuration.
